Originally a small beach cottage on Sullivan's Island with an ordinary façade, this house was transformed into a bungalow style home creating warmth and space for all to enjoy.
Near Charleston, South Carolina, this dark, drab house built in the 1970’s called for drastic alterations including the addition of three rooms, and the creation of bright, creative, livable space with ocean and inland waterway views.
A 700 square foot tower was added to incorporate additional bedroom, bath, study, office and viewing deck for a total of 2700 square feet and maximized curb appeal and livability.

The design completed the requirements by expanding the existing porch, adding a large sliding glass door that opened the living areas to the porch. A large outdoor wood-burning fireplace was added and could be enjoyed from all interior living spaces.

Built originally in the 1970's, this creek-side home was undistinguished and yet commanded a view overlooking pristine marshes and the intracoastal waterway. The owners were embarking on building their "dream home" on the waterfront lot and initially thought they would tear the home down. Later they decided on a sustainable option, relocating the home and renovating with some additions to provide a delightful home for their family of four while their "other" dream home was being realized.
