Purchasing Coordinator

Location: Sullivan’s Island, In-Office

About the Role: We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Purchasing Coordinator to support multiple residential interior design projects from procurement through installation. This role is critical to delivering a seamless, polished experience for our clients—ensuring furnishings, finishes, and custom pieces are ordered accurately, tracked diligently, and installed flawlessly. Experience in luxury interiors, furnishings procurement, or design studio operations is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement & Purchasing

  • Prepare, review, and process purchase orders for furnishings, lighting, rugs, finishes, and custom items

  • Coordinate deposits and approvals in collaboration with the design and accounting teams

  • Maintain accuracy across all purchasing documentation, pricing, lead times, and specifications

  • Communicate directly with vendors, workrooms, showrooms, and manufacturers

    Order Tracking & Logistics

  • Track all orders from placement through delivery, warehousing, and final installation

  • Proactively monitor lead times and flag delays, backorders, or discrepancies

  • Coordinate freight, white-glove delivery, and installation schedules

  • Manage claims for damages, shortages, or errors and oversee resolutions

    Project Coordination

  • Support multiple interior design projects simultaneously with varying timelines and scopes

  • Maintain organized records within project management and purchasing software (e.g., Studio Designer, CORE, or similar platforms)

  • Collaborate closely with interior designers, project managers, and installers to ensure alignment

    Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in interior design procurement, purchasing, or related administrative role (luxury residential preferred)

  • Strong understanding of furnishings, finishes, vendor lead times, and installation logistics

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects without sacrificing accuracy

  • Proficiency in purchasing and project management software (Studio Designer experience is a plus)
